  • Rich and Lynn Start their dream

    August 28, 2012

    After six years of planning and two years of prep, Rich and Lynn Lewis are departing on their sailing trip south, then west. Their plan is to go to Newport, OR for a couple of days (depending on weather), then down to central and southern California. They will stay around San Diego for about a month, and then cross into Mexico at the end of October, ending up in La Paz, Baja Sur, Mexico. After hurricane season, they will continue south and west for an adventure of a lifetime.

    Today, the proud new owner of this gorgeous new Jeanneau 44 DS is one step closer to going sailing. His new yacht came out of the Marine Servicenter Anacortes paint bay.

  • Sail Alaska 2012, Head's North June 24th, 2012

    Summer Solstice will kick off Sail Alaska this year. We will be leaving from Bedwell Harbor on Sunday morning, June 24th after the Jeanneau Rendezvous. There will be a skippers’ meeting and slide show of the 2011 trip Saturday morning, the 23rd. Coffee and doughnuts on the dock for the Sunday morning departure.

    Ocean Watch and a happy crew slid under the Golden Gate at 9:00 A.M. Monday morning, completing a safe trip down the coast from Anacortes. She sits at her new slip in Oakland, CA., ready to start a new chapter with Spirit of the Sea. Their mission is to bring the spirit of the sea to youth, with hands-on experience aboard a sailing vessel in order to educate and inspire new awareness, perspectives, and initiative regarding the oceans, the environment, their communities, and themselves.     Hope you were able to come to the boat show, both at South Lake Union and at Century Link Exhibition Hall.

    We had 12 boats on display in the water at South Lake Union and 2 booths at the Century Link Exhibition Hall. Deposits were taken on 2 new boats and 2 brokerage boats.
